Lowenthal Road

Lowenthal Road is one of the main entrances from Jefferson Road into the campus.It is named in honor of Max Lowenthal, who was one of the original founders and trustees of the Mechanics Institute.

Ward Road

Levi Ward was one of the original founders of the Rochester Athenaeum, as well as its first Secretary, upon its formation in 1829.

He was also the mayor of Rochester from 1849-1850, and president of the Rochester Savings Bank.
