Avid supporters and champions of RIT's mission for more than 60 years, Lucius Gordon and his wife, Marie, became key contributors to the field house through their gifts and other commitments. Their devotion to RIT is evident in both their service as trustees and their generosity to many RIT projects.

Lucius Gordon was awarded an honorary doctorate degree from RIT in 1999, in recognition of his many years of support, service and commitment to RIT, his professional accomplishments and his contributions to the greater community.
